Complaint Review – 17 Icon Bay Hotel (Dubai Creek Harbour)
Today, shortly after 9 AM, I visited 17 Icon Bay Hotel because one of my customers had left a car in the hotel parking. I went there only to pick up the vehicle. But the experience I had with the hotel’s security—especially the supervisor—was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.
As soon as I arrived, the security stopped me and asked where I was going. I calmly explained the full situation:
• The car was parked in parking 234
• The key was inside the car
• My customer had already sent me photos of everything
• I showed them the mulkiya, parking number, customer’s name, room number, and phone number
• I even provided my Emirates ID and my own phone number
Despite giving every possible proof and identification, the security supervisor still refused to let me take the car. He ignored all the evidence and wasted a lot of my valuable time for no valid reason. In all my years of work, visiting major hotels like Sofitel, Hilton, Sheraton, and many others, I have never faced such unprofessional and disrespectful behavior.
There was another security staff member, Jonathan, who behaved politely and professionally. But the supervisor’s behavior was the complete opposite—rude, uncooperative, and completely unreasonable.
I strongly believe that the hotel authorities should take serious action and consider removing this supervisor from his position. Someone with such attitude and poor judgment should not be representing a hotel.
This experience created a very negative impression of the hotel’s management, and I hope the authorities review this incident and ensure that such behavior does not happen again.
